CENTRAL BANK APPOINTS A NEW FINANCIAL SERVICES OMBUDSMAN

With effect from May 1, 2010 Ms. Suzanne Roach is the new Financial Services
Ombudsman of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. She has replaced Ms. Ann
Marie Narine, who served as the Financial Services Ombudsman from 2008 until end
April 2010.
The office of the Financial Services Ombudsman investigates complaints from individuals
and small businesses in respect of services provided by the financial institutions.

Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding visits Trinidad and Tobago

Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding met on December 16, 2009 with Senator the Hon. Dr. Lenny Saith who is performing the duties of Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago.
They held talks on Air Jamaica and Caribbean Airlines

LAUNCH OF THE $100 COMMEMORATIVE CIRCULATION CHOGM NOTE

On November 17, 2009, the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago launched the issue of a special circulation $100 note to commemorate the country’s hosting of the 60th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). The note will form part of the normal currency circulation thus enabling the general public ready accessibility to this commemorative issue. BPTT BEGINS GAS PRODUCTION FROM SAVONETTE

BP Trinidad and Tobago (bpTT) today announced the start of natural gas production from the Savonette field, offshore Trinidad. Savonette is located in 290 feet (88 metres) of water approximately 50 miles off Trinidad’s south east coast. BPTT holds a 100 per cent interest in the field.
Production from the platform is tied into bpTT’s Mahogany B platform, via a 26-inch diameter 5.3 mile subsea pipeline, where the gas is processed and then exported into bpTT’s existing infrastructure. Gas from Savonette will supply…
