INFLATION CONTINUES DOWNWARD TREND

According to the latest data released by the Central Statistical Office, inflation continued on a downward trend for the fourth consecutive month.
Headline Inflation, measured by the 12- month increase in the Index of Retail prices, fell to 4.3 per cent in August 2009 from 5.9 per cent in the previous month and from 11.6 per cent at the start of the year.
